Sophia Vaillant Sophia Vaillant is a pianist with a very rich background: after unanimously obtaining the Diplôme National d’Etudes Supérieures in the instrumental examination at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon in Pierre Pontier's class, she went on to study at the Guildhall School in London with Paul Berkowitz, a disciple of Rudolf Serkin, before perfecting her musical education at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada and Stony-Brook University in New York.

She participated in masterclasses with great masters such as György Sebök, Bernard Greenhouse (cellist of the Beaux-Arts Trio), Jean-Claude Pennetier, Alexander Volkov (pianist of the Israël Piano Trio) and won several international competitions.

Sophia has a very extensive piano repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary composers (with a particular predilection for French female and male composers of the 20th and 21st centuries).

Passionate about tango music, she was the pianist for La Tipica de Juan Cedron, then created the group TamborTango, where she arranged the music.

In 2013, she joined Paris VIII University in Saint-Denis to pursue a doctorate on the issue of the “performer-composer” in mixed music for piano and electronics, notably performing works by Luigi Nono, Jose-Manuel Lopez Lopez, and Alain Bonardi.

She regularly performs all over the world, whether in recital or chamber music with artists such as Marie-Christine Barrault in “Notes et mots d’amour,” a show they conceived and created together around female creators, with Magali Léger, Jean-Philippe Courtis, Ami Flammer, Sona Khochafian, Pierre Strauch, Yvan Chiffoleau, Hervé Brisse, the tangueros Cesar Stroscio and the Flores brothers, the contemporary music Ensembles Instant Donné, Atempo, Fa, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Atempo Festival in Venezuela, Printemps de Bourges, Quartz, Opéra-
