Xavier Jacquet

An oboist by training, Xavier Jacquet began his musical journey at the age of 7 before refining his skills with renowned masters such as Lucien Debray, Alain Denis, Jean-Claude Jaboulay, and Maurice Bourgue. A laureate of several first prizes from conservatories in France and Italy (oboe, cor anglais, composition, chamber music), he also holds the Diplôme d'État. Passionate about orchestral conducting, he leads symphonic and wind ensembles, notably at the CRD du Raincy as well as the Orchestre Symphonique de Bry-sur-Marne (OSB). A dedicated educator, he has taught oboe since 1994, coordinates interdepartmental meetings, and has directed the Stage de Musique en Savoie for over 30 years. He has also made several recordings ranging from classical repertoire to film scores.

Created 7 years ago, the Orchestre Symphonique de Bry-sur-Marne (OSB) is a dynamic ensemble born from a demanding transmission project. It brings together advanced students supervised by Conservatory professors, thus creating a unique synergy between young talents and professional musicians. The OSB explores a vast repertoire, from the Baroque period to contemporary works and film music. Recognised for its artistic maturity, the orchestra regularly accompanies prestigious soloists in great masterpieces of the concertante repertoire, such as Rachmaninov's monumental Piano Concerto. Highly involved in local cultural life, the OSB regularly performs in Bry-sur-Marne as well as in emblematic venues in the Île-de-France region, such as the Église Saint-Louis en l'Île in Paris, offering the public intense musical moments accessible to all.
