It all started with a photo that went viral worldwide. Elizabeth Eckford, alone, pursued by a racist mob. It was 4 September 1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas, a back-to-school day marked by the end of school segregation.
The nine Black children enrolled at Little Rock Central High School, until then reserved for white students only, were surrounded by a hysterical crowd. Based on Little Rock, 1957 by Thomas Snégaroff, Tallandier edition.
