Eva, an orphan from birth, receives dozens of micro-cassettes containing the voice of her mother, a war reporter, on her 18th birthday. Eva, very intelligent but above all very angry, is a young resident of the Closed Education Centre for minors in Mont de Marsan. Abandoned at birth, she knows nothing of her parents. However, on that day, summoned to the notary, she receives her inheritance: dozens of micro-cassettes and a dictaphone – her mother's voice on hours and hours of recordings. The Lebanese War, Arafat's speech at the UN, the fall of the Berlin Wall… Anna Duval was a war reporter. Eva then delves into a whole decade of journalism to discover her own Great Story. It’s the only one. They say it was struck by lightning, just like that, all of a sudden. One of the oldest in the forest. It was over 3000 years old, apparently. A few days before you arrived, I went for a walk in Bcharré. Up to that tree. I climbed the mountain until I reached this ebony wood.
