On 25 April 1974, in Portugal, the Carnation Revolution overthrew Europe's longest dictatorship. Thousands of Portuguese marched together towards their destiny to write, with flowers in their rifles, a sublime story of unity, love, and peace.

These men and women succeeded in winning their freedom without a single drop of blood being shed. This is the story of a democracy won through the unity of a people and conquered with flowers.
