By Compagnie Les Dramaticules. Written by Ionesco as a response to Shakespeare, Macbett offers an illuminating reflection on the mechanics of power. Moving from tragedy to vaudeville without forgetting the fairy tale, Ionesco questions our impulses, frustrations, and pettiness.
Against the backdrop of a terrible war, Macbett and Banco, friends and doubles, cross paths with a prophetic witch in a forest. From then on, mistrust and calculations poison their relationship.
They transform into treacherous and Machiavellian spirits, where the world of Monty Python is never far away. In the manner of a grand travelling theatre, Macbett recounts the games of power, with force and derision.
