L'Atelier des Songes

A trio at the crossroads of dance, circus, and magic, L’Atelier des songes invites audiences to dream in a spectacular setting. A monumental and modular cube becomes a habitat, an obstacle, and a formidable apparatus for the performers, transforming before the public's eyes.

Conceived by Nicolas Sannier, previously welcomed to Suresnes with his solo Home, this new show explores the search for beauty associated with creation. The beauty that artists dream of offering us to better amaze us.

By creating a stage within the stage, the set is a jewel box for artists in search of the most dreamlike of shows. The story begins with the exile of a five-year-old child leaving Algeria with her parents.

Then, that of a woman whom no one loves in her village because she reads books. One crosses the sea, the other the desert. The two juxtaposed narratives are linked by a shared quest where exile, synonymous with hope and combativeness, becomes essential, even vital.

Sous la nouvelle terre allows us to discover remarkable and luminous writing centred on the quest for self. On stage, two actors and a dancer give body, voice, and rhythm to two poetic, sensitive, and universal narratives.
