Salle de traite is the first part of Nos monstres tapent à nos fenêtres, a new triptych by Hadrien Marielle-Tréhouart — Compagnie La Maison et Loyzeau.

Adapted from Rebecca Vaissermann's text, this show traces the journey of a farmer who tries, at all costs, to save his farm and his herd of dairy cows — a herd that speaks. Angry farmers and slaughterhouse employees also make their voices heard.

Faced with repeated pressure from a creditor, the farmer's daily life gradually transforms into an endless series of sacrifices. Salle de traite reflects a reality that is now ours: in France, a farmer commits suicide every two days at their workplace.

Hundreds of others abandon their profession, unable to live decently. But who benefits from these sacrifices?
