Overview
Presented by La Compagnie de L'ElanCréer. Aimer. Détruire. Et recommencer. With this play, Musset temporarily abandons the proverb genre to deliver a comedy in alexandrines. A count neglects his young and beautiful wife to pursue her chambermaid, Louison.
Virtuous, the pretty chambermaid tries to evade his advances by opposing the count with a rustic but sincere rival.
Going beyond the usual stakes of vaudeville, Musset places at the centre of the play the social injustice suffered by his heroine; the innocent Louison can only find a way out through her own greatness of soul. Directed by: Bernard Lefebvre.
With: Julia Beauquesne, Mireille Carozzi, Naïm Hamou, Jonathan Le Guillou, Beatrice Murtinger. Costumes: Fréderic Morel. Lighting: Hélène Robin.
