Ariane Ascaride is much more than the universally recognised actress she has become. She is a woman who embodies the values of femininity, the voice of freedom and women's emancipation, just like Gisèle Halimi, whom she so brilliantly portrayed. But all of this did not happen without suffering or rebellion. Touchée par les fées (Fada in southern French dialect) is the account of her years of struggles and intense happiness, written by Marie Desplechin and directed by Thierry Thieû Niang. Here, Ariane opens up, with sincerity, humanity, courage and modesty, sweeping away the hardest moments of her life with a great burst of laughter. Ariane Ascaride lifts the veil on her life of struggles and love, with humour, modesty and sincerity.
