Overview
A December 24th in Paris. Pierre and Thérèse, somewhat uptight volunteers from the SOS Détresse Amitié association, meet for a telephone helpline shift. All night long, they will comfort desperate callers who have no one to spend Christmas with. The evening, which promised to be calm and boring, will ultimately be very lively with visits from Monsieur Preskovitch (an intrusive neighbour), Josette and Félix (a penniless couple), and Katia (a depressed transvestite).
With "Le Père-Noël est une ordure", the Splendid troupe created a masterpiece in 1979 in a new category: café-théâtre comedy. Reviving what has become a classic of the genre is no easy task. Everyone knows each character and every line, but like all of Splendid's great comedies, each revival is a success. Laughter guaranteed!
