Married at 13, from the black ghetto of Missouri, young Joséphine arrives in France and becomes the icon of all Paris in the Roaring Twenties. She joins the Resistance and will symbolise the great universal woman recently celebrated at the Panthéon… “Joséphine Baker le musical” makes us rediscover the dazzling artist with extraordinary dancing and singing talents, a precursor of Hip hop. This show also reveals the romantic life of this free and committed woman. We will meet her partners (Gabin), her lovers (Paul Colin, Pépito), her husbands (Willie Baker, Jo Bouillon) and the heroes, like her, who will not hesitate to put their lives in danger to save Jews and thwart the plans of the Nazis. She will campaign all her life against racial segregation by joining Martin Luther King Jr and adopting 12 children of all origins to create her rainbow tribe.
