A "Feelgood" show that brings us together and reflects us. Married at 13, from the black ghetto of Saint Louis, Missouri, young Joséphine arrived in France and became the icon of all of Paris during the Roaring Twenties. She joined the Resistance and would symbolise the great universal woman recently celebrated at the Panthéon… Joséphine Baker le musical “Consécration” allows us to rediscover the dazzling artist with extraordinary dancing and singing talents, a precursor of Hip hop. We will meet her partners (Sidney Bechet, Jean Gabin), her lovers (Paul Colin, Pépito), her husbands (Willie Baker, Jo Bouillon) and the heroes who, like her, would not hesitate to put their lives in danger to save Jews and thwart the Nazis' plans. She would campaign all her life against racial segregation by joining Martin Luther King Jr and adopting 12 children of all origins to create her rainbow tribe! After 50 years since Joséphine's passing and half a century since her last performance at Bobino in 1975, it's time for the “Consécration” version! Still at Bobino.
