Classical Arabic songs and music from the repertoires of Arabic legends such as Oum Kalsoum. Original repertoire by Duo Sawt Al-Chark composed by Issam and sung by Samar to Arabic poetry.

Traditional songs from Aleppo, a repertoire known worldwide through the Syrian legend Sabah Fakhri, and finally, sacred Aramaic chants. Oud improvisations and other musical pieces composed by Issam.

Samar Charifi began her career at a very young age, as from early childhood, her voice gave her the ability to sing the most difficult Arabic melodies (such as Oum Kalsoum's songs).

She pursued her studies in opera singing at the National Conservatory of Damascus in SYRIA until her arrival in France in 1998, where she continued her opera studies at the National Regional Conservatory of Strasbourg.

Since 1989, she has worked with Issam Charifi, who had her study classical Arabic music and singing after discovering her extraordinary voice. With Issam Charifi, she won first prize at the Syrian Song Festival in 1994 and 1996.

Issam Charifi began music in childhood by studying Western classical violin. At the age of 16, he started playing the oriental lute (oud), with which he became an accomplished artist. In 1989, he met Samar Boulboul, with whom he created the orchestra (La Voix D'Orient) in Syria.

The repertoire of this ensemble includes either classical Arabic singing like Oum Kalsoum's, or compositions by Issam Charifi, who continues in the field of classical Arabic music. This group won several competitions and participated in numerous Syrian festivals.

The duo continued its activities in FRANCE under the name Duo Sawt Al-Chark (Duo of the Voice of the Orient). The duo continued to give concerts in France and Europe, as well as at the Damascus Opera, marked by a successful tour with director Tony GATLIF and the show "VERTIGES".
