Guillaume Apollinaire amidst war, memory, flesh, and poetry…17 March 1916.
On the front line, Guillaume Apollinaire is hit in the head by a shell fragment and, while awaiting help, recalls his loves: Lou, Marie, Madeleine, but also the Bateau-Lavoir, Braque, Picasso, Max Jacob, and his mother whose love he so cruelly lacked.
In the fever of the wounded man, the two faces of Lou and Madeleine merge. Speaking to one and thinking of the other, he cannot choose between body and soul, between passion and peace.
Guillaume will traverse his physical and amorous wounds in a unique space where war and memory, flesh, poetry, and delirium intertwine. A poetic irruption into the heart of the Great War, this play is also an ode to life. Created in 2026.
