Trivium is an American thrash metal band from Orlando, Florida. Formed in 2000, the band evolved from metalcore with their first two albums (Ember to Inferno, Ascendancy) to thrash metal (The Crusade), eventually finding a compromise between the two (Shogun); however, the band denies and disapproves of being categorised as metalcore. By 2013, the band had sold over 6 million albums worldwide. As of 2021, the band has released a total of ten studio albums.
