About — The artist
Käfig (meaning “the cage” in German) is a dance company created in 1996 and still artistically directed by choreographer and dancer Mourad Merzouki, who specialises in hip hop and contemporary dance. It showcases creations inspired by the language of urban dances and hip hop, while also embracing other choreographic and artistic languages. 40 pieces have been created, attracting over 2 million spectators across 4000 performances in France and 65 countries worldwide.
For 4 days during the 2024 Olympic Games at the Champions Park at Trocadéro, in front of the Eiffel Tower, Compagnie Käfig, with 30 dancers and street artists, will participate in four days of performances of Trokad’héros in front of 55,000 spectators.
