Yaadhava

Through the encounter of tablas and double alghoza flutes, the duo Yaadhava (“remember the wind”) pays tribute to the Langa and Manganiar musicians of Rajasthan. This repertoire is the starting point for expressing an enchanting and joyful music, both dynamic and contemplative. A music of the Thar shepherds, a desert blues carried by the expressive power of double flutes and the hypnotic energy of tablas. Teepu Khan and Thomas Quinart explore this register with modernity in a gentle trance full of vitality.

Teepu Khan (tablas)

Originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Teepu Khan comes from a prestigious lineage of musicians, whose excellence is passed down from an early age: “my great-grandfather was the music master of the Maharaja of Jaipur”.

Mastering the classical, Sufi and traditional repertoire of northern India and particularly the art of tablas, Teepu has enriched himself with international stage experience, which he began at the age of 15. Today, he spreads his culture by fusing his art with other styles (flamenco, rock, reggae and even opera), leading to a great collaboration with Mathieu Chédid and even an invitation to play for Mick Jagger!

Thomas Quinart (alghoza and satara flutes)

A multi-instrumentalist musician, he trained at the Le Havre conservatory then at the Jazz à Tours school with Jean Aussanaire, Pierrick Menuau and Sébastien Boisseau. He collaborates with director Johanny Bert on several shows as a composer and performer on stage. Thomas Quinart participates in the Ez3kiel Extended touring adventure, collaborates with Capsul Collectif, notably with the group Air Brigitte. He has been a member of the Compagnie du Coin since 1999, with whom he has undertaken numerous tours in France and abroad. He composed the music for Sale Bête by Cie Traversant 3.
