At the crossroads of classical music and contemporary jazz, Volcan invites listeners to a journey of gentleness and inner exploration. Pianist Madeleine Cazenave's ethereal and sensitive world encourages contemplation. Her elegant and melodic compositions draw as much from the classical tradition, from Satie to Ravel, as from the improvised jazz of Keith Jarrett and Tigran Hamasyan. Like moving landscapes, her two previous albums left a lasting impression with their colours and textures, oscillating between minimalist groove and pop melancholy. For her new creation, Volcan, the pianist invites her fellow musicians, double bassist Sylvain Didou and drummer Boris Louvet, to explore the fascinating imagery of lava and ashes. A rich and immersive sound experience where visual elements will play a significant role.
