Contemporary Jazz — Ramona Horvath and Lisa Cat-Berro unite to celebrate the great female jazz composers, paying tribute to their legacy while adding an original touch.

Pianist Ramona Horvath and saxophonist Lisa Cat-Berro bring their musical worlds together in a unique quartet, performing a repertoire dedicated to the great female composers in jazz history, who have long remained in the shadows or been insufficiently recognised. Through the works of Mary Lou Williams, Ann Ronell, Carla Bley, Maria Grever, Kay Swift, and other major figures, the quartet pays tribute to these creators who profoundly influenced the history of music. The programme is also enriched with original compositions by Ramona Horvath and Lisa Cat-Berro, offering a natural dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. Driven by four musicians with strong personalities, this evolving ensemble explores a meeting space where sensitivities respond, intertwine, and mutually enrich each other. Between lyricism, freedom, complicity, and improvisation, each concert becomes a living experience, nourished by listening and the inspiration of the moment. An evening under the sign of discovery, emotion, and musical alchemy… with, at every moment, the promise of beautiful surprises. Part of the Jazz sur Seine 2026 festival.
