Overview
The legendary group known for its delicate fusion of jazz and Indian music celebrates its 25th anniversary. A pioneer of the Asian Vibe, a musical style reflecting jazz and Indian sounds, Mukta toured stages worldwide until 2012.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Nantes-based quintet led by double bassist Simon Mary returns with a new live album featuring revisited old tracks and new compositions faithful to the group's spirit.
With the presence of sitar player Michel Guay, the subtle and exhilarating fullness of Indian rhythms meets the deep vibrations of the double bass and the soaring trumpet.
African and Cuban tonalities join this fruitful dialogue where improvisations transport us into a space of boundless freedom.
