Born in Lebanon and arriving in Montreal in the 90s, Cyril Kamar, aka K.Maro, grew up surrounded by music.

Maro, grew up surrounded by music. Initially immersed in French chanson, it was in Canada that he discovered the urban cultures that would shape his artistic identity.

After starting out in the Montreal underground and creating his own production company at the age of 17, he achieved dazzling international success in 2004 with his first album La Good Life. Maro to the top of the charts in over 18 countries.

After three albums and a sold-out tour, he chose to withdraw from the stage to dedicate himself to production and discovering new talents, notably singer Shy'm, whose rise he supported to over two million albums sold.

Over the years, Cyril Kamar became a true jack-of-all-trades, navigating between music, entrepreneurship, and contemporary art, supporting numerous artists and developing his own artistic projects.

A collector and art enthusiast, he notably created Kamar & the Bugged Mind Crew, a critically acclaimed project at the crossroads of music and visual arts.

In 2024, he published Renaissances, a book in which he reflects on his childhood, his journey, and his quest for creative freedom. Maro made his musical comeback with Place de Loréane Vol.

1, an album blending French chanson and electronic music, which once again demonstrates his ability to reinvent himself.

At 46, Cyril Kamar thus continues the common thread of his journey: to create, to undertake, and to foster dialogue between different art forms with an ever-intact freedom.
