More than a tribute, this concert is a celebration! The orchestra formed in 2012, a year after the passing of the iconic singer.
The musicians who accompanied her on stage, joined by the cream of the Cape Verdean scene (Elida Almeida, Ceuzany, Lucibela and Teófilo Chantre…), perpetuate her work in an atmosphere of joyful and danceable celebration, faithful to the popular music of the island.
The Cesária Évora Orchestra invites us to hum along to Sodade, Angola, Miss Perfumado, Petit Pays and all the songs (now standards) from the repertoire of the “Barefoot Diva”. An enchanting and warm musical journey, between melancholy and swaying rhythms.
