A vibrant and modern perspective on an ancestral dance. Filipe Lourenço draws on his dual artistic heritage as an Arab-Andalusian musician and a traditional and contemporary dancer to question ancestral gestures and contemporary bodies. By transmitting the Ahidous, this collective dance of the Amazigh tribes of the Middle Atlas, to five dancers, the Portuguese choreographer invites them to summon their intimate memory to inhabit the dance. They reinvent a bodily language made of repetitive and geometric variations to weave new imaginaries. Crossed by tensions and impulses, the bodies dressed in multicoloured silk twirl again and again until they create a visual trance of striking hypnotic power.

Head to the Casbah of Algiers with festive and committed chaâbi music. A delicious blend of religious songs and Arab-Andalusian rhythms, chaâbi is a very popular musical genre in Algeria. Born at the beginning of the twentieth century, it accompanies the great moments of life and the demands of the Algerian people. Carried by migratory movements to France, the style incorporates new instruments and modernises, like the mythical Ya Rayah by Dahmane El Harrachi, successfully covered by Rachid Taha. In turn, the four musicians of Inkit revisit the classics of this magnificent repertoire in song and music, infusing it with rock and jazz tones while retaining the essence of chaâbi's romantic and intoxicating melodies.
