Alphaville

Alphaville, the cult band, was founded in 1983 in Münster by Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens. Thanks to hits such as « Big in Japan », « Sounds Like a Melody » and « Forever Young », the band became one of the most iconic and popular German acts of the 1980s.

After releasing seven more studio albums and touring worldwide, the band made a comeback in the German charts in 2010 with the album « Catching Rays On Giant », driven by the top 10 single « I Die For You Today ».

In 2022, with their triple symphonic album « Eternally Yours », the band once again reached the top 5 of the charts. This success was followed by a series of sold-out concerts with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.

To celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2024, the band released « Forever! Best of 40 Years », a compilation whose track selection was made by fans.

At the same time, « Forever Young » experienced a global resurgence in popularity: the track went viral on TikTok, reached number one on the Billboard charts, and was remixed by David Guetta, Alphaville and Ava Max. In 2025, Alphaville received the European Cultural Award.

With concerts scheduled until 2026 and a new studio album in preparation, Alphaville is heading towards new horizons with its current line-up: Marian Gold (vocals), Carsten Brocker (keyboards), Alexandra Merl (bass), David Goodes (guitar), Jakob Kiersch (drums).
