From 10 September to 24 October 2026, A. Galerie, a contemporary photography gallery in the 16th arrondissement, presents LA F.AI.M, an exhibition by British photographer Rankin on what artificial intelligence does to the desire to create.
A. M, a new exhibition by British artist and photographer Rankin, from 10 September to 24 October 2026.
The title borrows from the French word "faim" (hunger): the exhibition questions the force that drives an artist to create — desire, curiosity, obsession, the irrepressible need to produce — at a time when artificial intelligence can generate almost any image.
In recent years, Rankin has delved into generative AI and produced several thousand images, constituting one of the largest bodies of generative photographic works created by a contemporary photographer.
The exhibition spans portraiture, sculpture, fashion, mythology, religion, and art history, and asks a simple question: what remains human when everyone can generate an image? For Rankin, the answer is not found in the final image, but in the desire that gave birth to it.
Opening reception on Thursday 10 September 2026 from 7pm to 10pm. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm, Saturday from 12pm to 7pm.
