On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, the Musée national de la Marine opens its doors for free on 19 and 20 September! Throughout the weekend, discover the collections in a different way with a programme focused on photography, restoration and endangered maritime heritage.

📸 Photography at the heart of the collections 2026 marks the bicentenary of photography: the perfect opportunity to explore the links between photography and maritime heritage! Throughout the weekend, 30-minute flash tours invite you to discover the photographs preserved in the museum's collections. The museum also unveils photographic archives related to the FNRS III, accompanied by a podcast, to revisit the history of this famous bathyscaphe.

🔧 Go behind the scenes of restoration What happens behind the museum's display cases? Through several encounters, discover the work of professionals responsible for conserving and restoring maritime heritage objects. The programme includes a focus on the restoration project of the FNRS III, as well as an exceptional diving suit. This is an opportunity to understand how these objects are studied, restored and preserved for future generations!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A weekend for the whole family! Children are not forgotten! The museum's toy library offers games based on the maritime world, while a family workshop for children aged 3 and up invites young visitors to bring back to life the silhouette of a submarine damaged by time.
