Festival Jazz à la Villette

Jazz à la Villette returns to celebrate the end of summer with its open, demanding, and joyful jazz-funk line-up.

This 24th edition opens in style with Snarky Puppy & Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley: for two consecutive evenings at La Grande Halle, the 50 musicians of this versatile Dutch orchestra lend a masterful symphonic scale to the famous groove of the New York band.

Another highlight: a creation in homage to the visionary soul poet Gil Scott-Heron by Brian Jackson, his former musical director, and the rapper Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def). The English scene is magnificently represented this year. alto.

To these infinite variations and hybridisations of Great Black Music are added the committed spoken word of Aja Monet; the Creole sound of The Getdown collective, led by Arnaud Dolmen and Laurent Coulondre; the Vincent Segal-Roberto Fonseca duo; the return of Émile Parisien and Yaron Herman alongside Linda May Han Oh and Prabhu Edouard… Fans of more intimate formats are invited to discover the off-the-beaten-path proposals concocted under the banner Under The Radar.
