THE AMBIVALENCE OF FATHER-DAUGHTER BONDS, INSPIRED BY LEAR AND CORDELIA. A father disowns his child. Not just any father, but Lear, the hero of Shakespeare's play. Starting from the incommunicability between the sovereign and his favourite daughter, Andrea Jiménez explores the complexity of intergenerational relationships, drawing on her personal history, which made it necessary for her to take on the role of Cordelia. At each performance, a different actor interprets King Lear, without prior rehearsal, under the direction of the stage director. Through this setup, she draws the audience into a cascade of emotions. With the figure of the father, both biological and metaphorical, she brings everyone back to their own story. And how to break free from it.
