About — The venue
The Warehouse (or The House) was a famous nightclub located in Chicago, USA. Opened in 1977 under the direction of Robert Williams, it was renamed Music Box after its resident DJ Frankie Knuckles left at the end of 1982, and remained so until its closure in 1987. This club is considered by many today to be the birthplace of house music, particularly Chicago house.
