About — The venue
The collegiate church of Saint-Pierre, or Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church, is a former collegiate church located in the town of Le Dorat, in Haute-Vienne, 12 km north of Bellac and 76 km south-east of Poitiers.
An imposing Romanesque church (77 metres long and 39 metres at the transept), it is built of grey granite. Its plan is a Latin cross. Its construction began in the 12th century. It was fortified in the 15th century, hence its massive character. It was classified as a historical monument in 1846.
