About — The place

The Cité de l'Économie, or Citéco, is a French museum dedicated to economics and located in Paris. Inaugurated on 15 May 2019, it opened to the public on 14 June 2019.

This educational venue, aiming to explain economic concepts and mechanisms, is funded by a sponsorship from the Banque de France. It is housed in the Hôtel Gaillard, a 19th-century historical monument built in a Neo-Renaissance style in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, which underwent eight years of renovation work before Citéco's opening.
