About — The artist
The Quintette du Hot Club de France, sometimes abbreviated QdHCdF or QHCF, is a French jazz group, originally from Paris. It was formed in 1934 by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, with Louis Vola, Joseph Reinhardt (Django's brother), and Roger Chaput, who came from the band that played for tea dances at the Claridge Hotel in Paris in 1933. Together, they adopted a musical style blending jazz and Gypsy jazz, which captivated a wide audience. They disbanded just before the war.
