About — The artist
Poppy, real name Moriah Rose Pereira, born on 1 January 1995 in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, actress, and video artist. She moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to pursue a musical career, before signing a contract with Island Records and releasing her first EP, Bubblebath (2016), under the pseudonym That Poppy.
In late 2016, Poppy became the ambassador for the Hello Sanrio collection by the Japanese company Sanrio. During the summer of 2017, she signed a new agreement with the Mad Decent label and subsequently introduced her first album, titled Poppy.Computer. Her second studio album, Am I a Girl?, was released in October 2018.
In August 2019, Poppy announced her collaboration with the Sumerian Records label with the release of the first single, Concrete. On 4 October 2019, Poppy announced that the title of her next album would be I Disagree and launched the single of the same name. She then signed five more albums with the same label, up to Empty Hands in 2026.
