About — The artist
La Roux is an English electropop duo founded by Elly Jackson (singer and keyboardist) and Ben Langmaid (co-writer and co-producer). They cite influences from 1980s bands such as Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, Tears for Fears, The Human League, Heaven 17, Blancmange, or singers from the 1980s to the 2000s like Madonna or Jenny Wilson.
La Roux's debut studio album, La Roux, was released in 2009.
In early 2012, due to artistic differences, Ben Langmaid decided to leave the group, leaving Elly Jackson to complete La Roux's second studio album, Trouble in Paradise, alone, which was released in 2014. Elly Jackson also featured on three tracks from New Order's album Music Complete, released in autumn 2015.
