About — The artist
The Journées du patrimoine de pays et des moulins (JPPM) are a French cultural event aimed at promoting local heritage. They take place every year in June.
Founded in 1998 under the name Journées du patrimoine de pays, they have included the Journée des moulins since 2006, an event initiated by the Fédération française des associations de sauvegarde des moulins.
They are organised by a collective comprising the Fédération Patrimoine-Environnement, the FFAM, Maisons paysannes de France, the Union REMPART, the association des Architectes du patrimoine, the Fédération des musées d'agriculture et du patrimoine rural, the Petites Cités de Caractère and the Fondation du patrimoine.
Each year, a theme helps to highlight local heritage. In 2019, the theme Naturellement Durable was very successful with event organisers. For the 2020 edition, which will take place on 27 and 28 June 2020, the chosen theme is L'arbre, vie et usages. In 2022, the event celebrated the theme: "Etre et renaitre". In 2023, for the 25th anniversary of the event, the chosen theme honoured the volunteers and professionals who are committed to unprotected heritage: "Fêtons 25 ans d'engagement". In 2024, "L'eau, utile à tous" was the chosen theme. In 2025, the proposed activities featured the theme: "Terre à terre".
In 2025, the event changes its name to Journées du Patrimoine de Pays. It still has the same 8 organising associations.
In 2026, the theme for the Journées du Patrimoine de Pays will be: "Tours et détours". The event will take place from 26 to 28 June 2026.
