Christophe

Daniel Bevilacqua, known as Christophe, was a French singer-songwriter, and occasionally actor, born on 13 October 1945 in Juvisy-sur-Orge and who died on 16 April 2020 in Brest.

In 1965, during the yéyé era, one of his first songs, Aline, instantly became a hit. He had other great successes with Main dans la main (1972), Les Paradis perdus (1973), and Les Mots bleus (1974), which were critically acclaimed, as was his pop rock album Le Beau Bizarre (1978), though it had less commercial impact. In 1979, the song Aline experienced a revival and became the slow dance hit of the summer in France.

After a relative period of obscurity, he released five albums between 1996 and 2016, including Comm'si la terre penchait (2001) and Les Vestiges du chaos (2016). In 2019, Christophe returned with two compilations of duets (Christophe, Etc. and Christophe, Etc. Vol. 2), in which the singer revisited his songs.

In total, he released seventeen studio albums, three live albums, and collaborated on four feature films during his fifty-five-year career.
