Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish (pronounced: [ˈbɪli ˈaɪlɪʃ]), born on 18 December 2001 in Los Angeles, is an American singer-songwriter and actress.

Her first track, Ocean Eyes (written by her and her brother Finneas O'Connell), released in March 2016 (and on the radio two years prior, when she was thirteen), was a great success, totalling nearly 87 million streams during July 2016. Her first EP, Don't Smile at Me, was released in August 2017. Two months later, following its success, Apple made Billie Eilish its new Apple Music Up Next artist.

In March 2018, Billie Eilish announced the creation of her clothing brand, Blohsh.

In March 2019, her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, composed and produced with her brother, was released. It reached number 1 on the US Billboard 200 and recorded the third-highest number of streams for an album by a female artist on streaming platforms (equivalent to 313,000 units sold), in addition to 170,000 “physical” album sales. It also topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. The album features the following four singles: When the Party's Over, Bury a Friend, Wish You Were Gay, and Bad Guy, with the latter track reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell each won five awards for this debut album at the 2020 Grammy Awards, including the four main categories: Grammy Award for Best New Artist, Album of the Year (making her the youngest winner in history), as well as Song of the Year and Record of the Year for the single Bad Guy. The RIAA counted eight gold and twenty-two platinum singles for Billie Eilish in December 2020. She was also the first musician born in the 21st century to top the Billboard Hot 100, as well as the youngest female singer to top this chart in ten years, since Demi Lovato. In early 2020, Billie Eilish was chosen to compose and perform the eponymous song for the new James Bond film, No Time to Die, which was released on 28 September 2021. At the 2021 Grammy Awards, Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell again won the Record of the Year trophy for the single Everything I Wanted and Best Song Written for Visual Media with No Time to Die.

The documentary titled Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry, released on 26 February 2021, chronicles her journey. Her second album, Happier Than Ever, preceded by the release of five singles, was published on 30 July 2021 and immediately reached number one on the Billboard 200. In October 2021, Billie Eilish announced the launch of her vegan perfume. Since 2021, she has created 6 perfumes: Eilish, Eilish No.2, Eilish No.3, Your Turn, Your Turn II and Eilish Intense. PETA named her Person of the Year in December 2021.

In March 2022, Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell won the Oscar for Best Original Song for No Time to Die. In March 2024, she again won the same Oscar with Finneas for What Was I Made For? from the film Barbie. Her third album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, which features no predefined singles, was released on 17 May 2024. The biggest hit from it is the song Birds of a Feather. The singer, the album, and the song triumphed at the American Music Awards 2025.
