Angèle, mononym for Angèle Van Laeken, born on December 3, 1995, in Uccle (Brussels-Capital), is a Belgian French-speaking singer-songwriter, musician, producer, actress, and model.
Her first album, Brol, released in October 2018, sold over 500,000 copies within the first eleven months of its release, earning her the top spot for album sales in France for the year 2019. In 2021, she released her second album, Nonante-cinq, which achieved both commercial and critical success.
In 2020, she won the Victoire du spectacle musical, tournée ou concert for her Brol Tour. In 2022, she won the NRJ Music Award for Francophone Female Artist of the Year. The following year, she received the awards for Female Artist of the Year and Most Streamed Album of the Year at the Victoires de la musique.
In 2024, she made a notable appearance at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, performing the song « Nightcall » accompanied by the band Phoenix and Kavinsky.
