About — The artist
Alex Lutz is a French actor, comedian, director, playwright, novelist, and filmmaker, born on August 25, 1978, in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin).
After several supporting roles in theatre, he gained recognition in cinema thanks to his secondary role as the Nazi leader Heinrich Von Zimmel, opposite Jean Dujardin in the pastiche comedy OSS 117 : Rio ne répond plus by Michel Hazanavicius, a sequel to the previous film (2009). However, it was truly his character of the secretary Catherine in the comedy show Catherine et Liliane, which he performed alongside his friend Bruno Sanches, that propelled him into the spotlight and established him with the public. For six years, the two companions achieved high ratings before parting ways by mutual agreement in 2019.
He is the recipient of three Molière de l'humour awards in 2016, 2020, and 2026. In cinema, consecration arrived the same year when he won the Lumière and the César for Best Actor for his role in Guy, a mockumentary musical that marked his second directorial effort.
