The Musée de la Vie romantique reopens its doors after 17 months of renovation. The house regains its 1830 appearance, restoring the site to all the elegance of its original state. Inside, the scenography faithfully recreates the atmosphere of a 19th-century artist's home.
It is in this intimate setting that we will encounter the novelist George Sand, the opera singers Pauline Viardot and her sister Maria Malibran, the sculptor princess Marie d'Orléans, and the actress Mademoiselle Rachel. All were admired and honoured by their contemporaries.
We will discuss the lives and works of women artists in a place frequented by the great figures of Romanticism.
