He will present "Just Beyond Endless Mountain", his new studio album inspired by his Swedish musical roots, due for release on 9 October 2026 via ANTI- Records.
For nearly twenty years, Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson has travelled the world under the name The Tallest Man on Earth. His discography has long been perceived through the prism of the American folk tradition.
"Just Beyond Endless Mountain" subtly overturns this perspective.
After returning to his native Dalarna, in central Sweden, Kristian Matsson found himself listening to the music he had spent years trying to leave behind: the polskas, the old field recordings, and the sounds of local traditions that had surrounded him since childhood.
The result is not a return to the past, but a step towards new musical territory. Swedish folk music has transformed his melodies, his voice, and his songwriting style.
