Recognised as one of the best live bands of their generation, the demand to see Simple Minds in concert has grown exponentially in recent years. Formed in the 70s and taking their name from a line in the lyrics of David Bowie’s seminal single, “The Jean Genie” (1972), Simple Minds have become one of the most celebrated British bands of all time. They have sold over 60 million records worldwide, topped the singles charts on both sides of the Atlantic, and seen their albums reach number one in global charts, including five UK number one albums: *Sparkle In The Rain* (1984), *Once Upon A Time* (1985) and *Street Fighting Years* (1989), as well as the live album *Live In The City Of Light* (1987) and the compilation *Glittering Prize 81/92*. Among their many international hits are “Alive and Kicking”, “Promised You A Miracle”, “Waterfront”, “(Don’t You) Forget About Me”, “Belfast Child”, “Sanctify Yourself”, “She’s a River” and “Let There Be Love”. The single “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, a US number 1 in 1985, remains a global streaming success and recently joined the prestigious “Spotify Billions Club”.
