Seth Gueko

Seth Gueko, real name Nicolas Salvadori, born on 27 October 1980 in Pontoise, is a French rapper. Or rather, a “Barlou”: a lout in all his glory… a true state of mind that cultivates difference, being on the fringe, resourcefulness… and tattoos too!

Over time, it has become a real community, bringing together all those who refuse to blindly follow the rules of the game without thinking… and who support the “chief” Barlou, the general, Mister Seth Gueko.

With over 13 projects to his name and hundreds of collaborations, Seth Gueko has nothing left to prove. An essential figure in independent French rap, he has made his mark with significant albums like Michto and Bad Cowboy.

He blends irony and provocation to create a unique style, both offbeat and authentic. He doesn't need easy provocations or artificial buzz to exist: his identity is enough.

A true linguistic tinkerer, Seth Gueko, like Alex the Droog, the tragic hero of Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, skilfully mixes gangster slang, louchebem (butchers' language), verlan, and the Romani language of travellers.

With a Parisian working-class charm and a cheeky wit à la Michel Audiard, his universe is full of pop culture references. Starting with his stage name, inspired by the character Seth Gecko in Roberto Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn.

Over the years, Gueko has reinvented himself and forged a unique persona, drawing from the worlds of Emir Kusturica, Jack Nicholson, vampire and zombie films, and even his friend JoeyStarr.
