Pure Reason Revolution

The progressive alternative rock band PURE REASON REVOLUTION returns with their new album "Terrifying Angels", their fourth since their comeback in 2019.

The album will be released on 25 September 2026, and the band will then embark on a headline tour in the United Kingdom in November 2026. PRR will make their return to the continent in early 2027, with a new tour and a single French stop, in Paris.

Following the slightly softer and more poignant themes of sadness and transience that permeated the 2024 album "Coming up to Consciousness", the sound of this new opus is dark and powerful, rich in wild riffs, unsettling soundscapes, and aggressive, grunge-infused musical layers – all blended, of course, with the transcendent harmonies that are the band's trademark.

For this album, PRR collaborated with significant artists. Notably, Mariusz Duda (Lunatic Soul) and Kristoffer Gildenlöw both played bass on the album, while Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief) once again handled the mixing.

The album's lyrics explore the figure of the angel as a notion combining both salvation and destruction – symbolising situations, feelings, and relationships that simultaneously engender transcendence and suffering.

A terrifying angel is the reversal of expectations: what is assumed to be purely good contains an unexpected, darker side, inseparable from the light.

Love, memory, truth, and identity all become, in their own way, terrifying angels throughout the seven varied tracks of this album.

These immense and historical themes, as well as these spectacular images, perfectly complement the imposing grandeur of the music, whose influences include classic grunge from bands such as Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Mudhoney.
