"Les Belles-Mères" are ready to do anything to prevent their children's marriage. Faustine Boullac de la Coulandière has decided to marry her son Louis-Edouard to Eglantine.

Djamila Bouhamza, equally wealthy thanks to her success in local commerce, has also planned a marriage for her daughter Fatima, with Mohamed. But the young adults Louis-Edouard and Fatima are secretly in love. They have decided to celebrate their union, no matter the cost.
