He is convinced that he possesses a natural gift destined for a great career in cinema. A team of Parisian filmmakers passing through for location scouting, amused by the pretensions of this “Schpountz” (a naive dreamer), sign him a fake actor's contract.

Swollen with pride and deaf to the warnings of his loved ones, Irénée, contract in hand, goes to Paris and presents himself at the studios. A family comedy that has become a cult classic, paying a vibrant and delightful tribute to laughter and its necessity.
