Overview
Le chant des lions tells the story of the writing of the famous Chant des partisans. The writing is precise, the staging full of life, and the cast excellent. 1933. Germaine Sablon, one of the capital's most popular singers, performs in a cabaret.
In the audience is Joseph Kessel, journalist, author, aviator, and adventurer. Their love at first sight is immediate, but war arrives and transforms the lives of these two lovers. Today, all of Germaine Sablon's songs have fallen into oblivion... All, except one.
The one they created together: Le Chant des partisans. With this show, authors Julien Delpech and Alexandre Foulon recount the humanity of those who change the world. They question them, and also tell of their flaws.
Director Charlotte Matzneff makes their words resonate, she breathes life into them and makes a dazzling troupe of actors shine. Spectators feel as if these great characters are there, in front of them, for an evening.
