Overview
A burlesque and digital performance for a speaking harpist, Guêpes, Grenouilles et Monstres borrows from Aristophanes' bestiary its social satires to transpose them into today's world. With this new creation, Aurélie Saraf and composer Alexandros Markeas draw on the ancient poet's work for its subversive spirit of irreverence to question the artist's place in the face of current crises and anxieties.
On stage, four harps and their digital doubles projected onto a screen form the setting for the action, guided by a voice-over. Moving from one instrument to another, the musician dialogues with her algorithmic avatar, which gradually desynchronises in a game of shattered mirrors.
Rock timbres, polyrhythms, contemporary minimalism, projected images and narration merge into a poetic and rebellious cantata. Featuring: Aurélie Saraf, harp and performance.
