Defays / Depreissac quintet

The music of Maë Defays, author and composer, navigates the waves of soul and jazz. But it is more towards jazz that the quintet she forms with Olivier Defays (her father) and Ludovic Depreissac takes her. In a tailor-made repertoire including original songs, the artist's airy and clear voice is alternately called upon, as a soloist of course, but also as an instrument that joins the saxophone and piano. Navigating between standards from the Great American Songbook, Brazilian music, bebop and personal compositions - in French, Creole, English or Portuguese - this quintet brings together experienced musicians from the French jazz scene and rising artists from the new generation, linked by a shared love of music and improvisation.
